In Coke Oven Gas (COG) and Blast Furnace lines, standard wedge gate valves do not perform well because tar and particulate matter accumulate in the seating area, causing leakage. Even in worse scenario, temperature fluctuations often lead to thermal binding, jamming the valve closure.
Hubluxe Engineering’s Double Disc Gate Valves (DDGV) uses a parallel slide mechanism with a collapsible wedge (often called as Double Disc Parallel Gate Valve). This design ensures the discs self-align to the seat without wedging, while our Steam Purging System melts deposited tar before operation, guaranteeing a Class VI positive shut-off every time. The double disc gate valves are manufactured in accordance with API standards.

Double Disc Gate Valve is a low pressure valve for isolation. It comprises of double disc with other components such as body, bonnet, disc, stuffing boxes tem, superstructure and drive mechanism. A centrally placed collapsible wedge, connected to the valve stem through a specially designed flexible joint ensures a sealing force on the discs, preventing rubbing of seating surfaces and increasing the overall life of the seat.
